THIS old picture is of the very first football team to represent Greatwood School, in 1955.
All the boys were aged 11 and played in the Arsenal colours of red and white.
The pic has been sent in by Malcolm Barnwell, of Regent Crescent, Skipton, who is pictured fifth from the left on the back row.
He said he remembered very well the first game. The team played a team from Brougham Street School who were aged 13 and 14.
"We lost 9-1," said Malcolm.
The Greatwood boys pictured are back row, from the left: Martyn Green, Richard Holmes, Ivan Stoney, John Bridge, Malcolm Barnwell, Michael Myers, Edward Wild and PE teacher Mr Brown.
Front row - Michael Dawson, Derrick Walton, Tony Akers, Alan Shorrock, George Reid.
