AVERAGE speed cameras are due to be switched on this Spring along the A682 from Gisburn to the North Yorkshire border near Long Preston.
A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council said: "Our contractor Jenoptik is currently working to install average speed cameras as part a package of safety improvements on a number of A-roads which have a history of serious incidents.
"We have received £7.9million from the Department for Transport's Safer Roads Programme, with around £449,000 being invested in measures on the A682 with speed cameras covering the stretch between Gisburn and Long Preston going live during the spring
"We have already installed solar-powered road studs to highlight the centreline, and rumble strips to highlight the edge of the road over 13km, and are expecting to make the average speed cameras live during the spring."
