SKIPTON MP Julian Smith recently visited Skipton Girls High School He was invited to visit the school by headteacher, Martha Featherstone, which came after a trip earlier in the same week to the Houses of Parliament by some of the school's A-Level politics students.
Mr Smith's visit included a tour by some of the school leaders, including an introduction to the Generate Gym, where gym equipment is used to generate electricity to charge the student’s laptops.
He said: “I’m grateful to Martha for inviting me to visit Skipton Girls’ High School again. Every pupil I met was friendly, confident and bright – an inspiring cohort of girls packed with future leaders.
“I look forward to seeing what they go on to achieve in the years ahead.”
