A COFFEE morning at Gargrave Community Room, Neville Crescent, raised a very impressive £1,421 towards new Christmas lights for the village.
Organiser, Helen Foster, was inspired to raise funds because she thought the village's festive lights could be improved.
She said: “I decided the village lights needed a refresh this year. Thank you to everyone who contributed."
The event had refreshments, home made cakes, a raffle, tombola, guess the name of the teddy and guess how many sweets in the jar along with a silent auction.
It was a very busy morning supported by both residents and visitors. A total of £1421.20p was raised which Helen said was beyond everyone’s expectations. Helen was helped by a great team of people offering help and support.
The next event will be an Easter fairy trail in the village, from March 24 until March 31.
