INDEPENDENT bookshop, The Stripey Badger in Grassington, has come up with some perfect books for Mother's Day.
Mother and son owners, Linda Furniss and James Firth, have chosen five books which they think are ideal presents for Mothering Sunday, March 10.
They are: Weyward by Emilia Hart - Men invented the word WITCH. We call ourselves Weyward. Three women, five centuries, one spelling story - a generational tale of female resilience.
One Good Thing by Alexandra Potter - When life feels like a **** up all you need is One Good Thing. The Bridget Jones for our times, says The Daily Telegraph.
The Whispering Muse by Laura Purcell - a gothic tale of cursed watches, illicit love and dripping in atmosphere.
The Hidden Years by Rachel Hore - a gorgeous warm-hearted wonderfully written read where two women's stories collide in a tale of secrets, loss, and betrayal.
And, The Mountain and the Sea by Ray Naylor - sci-fi set in a world of highly intelligent, dangerous species of octopus. What can possibly go wrong for marine biologist Dr Ha Nguyen?
This Mother’s Day, purchase a Bookshop.org Gift Card – the online book token that supports indie bookshops, like The Stripey Badger, with every purchase!
All five books are available at the Stripey Badger or online at www.bookshop.org:
