A CARE home in Threshfield is inviting members of the community to join its monthly dementia cafe.
Threshfield Court Care Home is holding a dementia cafe on the last Thursday of every month for two hours in the afternoon when people will be able to meet other carers supporting others living with dementia. The free event is aimed at providing a short respite and social support.
During the care group sessions, which run from 2pm to 4pm, guests will also have a chance to meet the team at the home, to discuss any questions they might have about care.
Stacey Nicholson, the home's senior general manager, said: “We’re really looking forward to making more friends in our local community. The condition itself can be quite lonely and frightening, and the more support we can provide to each other, the better. Our team are always here at Threshfield Court if anyone is unable to make it on the day but would like to pop in for a tour and a cup of tea, our doors are always open.”
Threshfield Court care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers. Threshfield Court provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for 57 residents from respite care to long term stays.
