POLICE are appealing for witnesses after three men attempted to break in to a house in Regent Drive, Skipton yesterday (Tuesday).
The attempted break-in, at about 2.40pm, was foiled after they were heard by someone inside the house at the time who shouted at them.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "Three males used a crowbar to prise the lock off the back door. The victim was inside the house and they shouted at the offenders who made off in a white Seat Leon car with blacked out number plates. The vehicle drove towards Kingsway.
"The offenders were described as young males, possibly teenagers, wearing dark clothing with black snoods covering their faces. One was wearing a white hoodie with the hood up."
Anyone who saw anything, who may have CCTV or a Dash Cam that might have footage of the vehicle or offenders, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on the non emergency 101 and quote incident number 1224 004 0165; or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
