FRIENDS Jake Woodward and Joe Buckley are hoping to raise £1,500 for men's mental health charity ManUp? by running their first marathon.
Joe, from Threshfield, and Jake from Barnoldswick, both of who went to Ermysted's Grammar School before heading off to university, are taking part in the Manchester Marathon on April 14.
The friends say they have always been keen gym goers and have recently expanded their exercise regime by regular runs. This has had a positive effect on their mental health and they are keen to spread the word and inspire others.
They are raising money for ManUp? because they want to encourage young males to speak out about their feelings. Joe said: "If we just help one person it will be worth all the effort."
