POLICE are appealing for witnesses, including possibly a dog walker, following an alleged robbery close to Skipton's Aireville Park around midday on Wednesday (March 7).
Officers are investigating after an 18-year old man was allegedly assaulted in Harewood Road, next to an entrance to the park, sometime between 12.20pm and 1pm on Wednesday.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "During the attack it is believed that the man was forced to transfer a large amount of money from his online banking to an unknown account using his mobile phone.
"We’d like to speak to anyone who has any information or doorbell camera footage that could assist our investigation. In particular, we’d like to speak to the dog walker who we understand was in the area at the time and may have seen something."
Anyone with any information is asked to email: Dave.Hunton1@northyorkshire.police.uk or call North Yorkshire Police on 101; or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111; or online. Quote crime reference number 1224 004 0784 when providing any information.
