WRITER, priest and regular contributor to BBC Radio 2’s Pause for Thought, Matt Woodcock, is heading to the Dales this month to bring a bit of laughter into Lent.
He is due to give a talk at Kettlewell Village Hall on March 23 and on Palm Sunday, March 24 he will be the guest preacher at Hubberholme Church and will also be taking part in the parish's Palm Sunday procession.
Vicar Rev Tom Lusty said: “It’s brilliant that Matt is coming to the parish. Matt can make you laugh out loud and think deep thoughts about faith at the same time, a rare gift”.
All are welcome to the procession on Palm Sunday, which will start from Buckden village green at 10am. Including Matt Woodcock and a donkey, the procession will walk two miles along the Dales Way path to Hubberholme Church for the service at 11am. There is no need to book, and people can take part in the procession, or just turn up for the service.
Matt's talk at Kettlewell Village Hall on Saturday, March 23 will start at 8pm. The bar will open at 7.30 and the first drink is free. There will be lots of non-alcoholic drinks available for anyone not drinking in Lent. After the talk, there will be a chance to ask questions.
