A CHILDREN’S nursery in Hellifield has raised £350 for Airedale Hospital's emergency department appeal.
Chipmonks Day Nursery, based at Hellifield Primary School, organised a series of fun activities including a sports day, coming to the nursery in pyjamas, a bake sale and raffle, and hosted a Teddy Bear picnic.
Claire Fagan, Chipmonks manager, said: “Airedale Hospital is used by staff, parents and children for many reasons and is a cause close to our hearts. We were overwhelmed by the support and generosity of our families and had lots of fun taking part in all the fundraising events.”
Laura Hepworth, community fundraiser for the Airedale Hospital and Community Charity, added: “Our local schools are in the heart of the community and we are always so grateful for the wonderful fundraising activities they do. We would like to say a huge thank you to the children, staff, parents and teddy bears for raising an amazing £350."
The Emergency Department Appeal aims to raise £150,000 to refurbish the paediatric waiting area, the paediatric resuscitation area, and the bereavement facilities, all of which have become worn after being in use for nine years.
The appeal was set up with the aim to improve the comfort of patients and their families during their stay at the Emergency Department. To donate to Airedale Emergency Department Appeal, visit www.justgiving.com/campaign/AiredaleED.
