SEVERAL Skipton organisations are joining forces for a free community sports day due to take place during the early May bank holiday weekend.
The sport and community day at Sandylands Sports Centre, off Engine Shed Lane, will promote health and wellbeing by showcasing what is on offer at the sports centre and all the different clubs that are based there.
Taking place on Sunday, May 5, there will be sports taster sessions, a bouncy castle and family fun activities, as well as refreshments and stalls showing the work of community groups and charities. Samaritans Pendle, Burnley, Craven and Rossendale will be providing awareness of the role it has in mental health while inviting people to 'Spin the Wheel ' and win prizes.
This event is a joint project involving Skipton Town Council, North Yorkshire Council, Skipton Business Improvement District, Craven College and the North Yorkshire Police Fire and Crime Commissioner.
