CHURCHES in Skipton and Embsay came together yesterday (Sunday) for a Palm Sunday procession.
Members of Holy Trinity Church and Christ Church, Skipton together with members of St Mary's, Embsay, took part in a procession in Skipton. It began in Caroline Square, with a hymn, accompanied by Skipton Brass.
From there, the procession, led by Curate Rev Doug Rice-Bowen, made its way up Sheep Street to the High Street and onwards to Holy Trinity Church. All those who took part had fronds of willow for their 'palm'. Following the procession, there was a service of Holy Communion at Holy Trinity.
This weekend, there will be a dawn Holy Communion service at Holy Trinity on Easter Day (Sunday) at 6am and a family service also at Holy Trinity on Sunday at 9.45am. On Good Friday, March 29, there will be Tenebrae Service of Shadows before the Cross at 2pm.
