CHILDREN at Burnsall Primary School will have a fabulous day out this summer thanks to a pub's selling of pies.
For every pie sold at the village's Red Lion Hotel and Manor House, 25p goes to the school - and now, a magnificent £880.25p has been handed over to the grateful school.
Claire Greenwood and Chris Parkhouse, executive co-headteachers at the Upper Wharfedale Primary Federation, thanked the pub for its generous donation.
They said: "What a fantastic amount of money which will help to pay for the children's big day out in the summer, and, if you haven't tried one of their delicious pies yet, why not head on down - 25p from every pie sold is donated to school."
The Upper Wharfedale Primary Federation also includes Cracoe and Rylstone VC CoE Primary School, Grassington VC, CoE Primary School , and Kettlewell Primary School.
