POLICE say two people were taken to hospital following a serious collision between a car and a lorry on the A59 at Broughton, near Skipton, on Monday (March 25).
The A59 was closed from the A59/A65 roundabout for several hours following the collision which happened at around 11.45am .
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "Officers were called to the A59 in Skipton following a report of a serious collision between a car and a lorry.
"The driver and passenger of the car, a Range Rover, were taken to hospital for treatment. North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and assisted with safely removing the vehicles and clearing the area.
"Road closures were fully lifted at around 10pm."
