THE founder and creative director of a jewellery business in Barnoldswick has been shortlisted for an industry award.
Mags Walker, of Toolally, in Newtown, will find out in June if she has been crowned Commercial Jewellery Designer of the Year at the UK Jewellery Awards.
Toolally launched in 2016 as a statement fashion jewellery brand using acrylics combined with metals to create bold pieces. In 2021 Mags launched a semi-fine range, made of sterling silver and gold vermeil, reimagining best-selling acrylic styles in precious metals.
Mags said: “To be shortlisted by such an eminent panel of experts means the world to me. I’m proud for myself, proud for the Toolally team and for Barnoldswick, home to the Toolally studio. It means a lot to be recognised for design in particular."
With a background in the creative sector, Mags’ love of jewellery and passion for making things has translated into a brand which is celebrated in the industry for its clever approach to design and use of shape and colour.
Her designs are worn by celebrities including Fearne Cotton, Laura Whitmore and Yomi Adegoke.
The 2024 winner of Commercial Jewellery Designer of the Year will be announced at the UK Jewellery Awards on June 26.
