A FORMER president of Skipton Golf Club has handed over the proceeds of fundraising during his time in office to good causes.
Bill Simpson, last year's club president, recently presented cheques totalling £1,300 to three charities, a sum raised during his year in office from raffles, competitions, the sale of the president's reserved parking spot and individual donations from members.
Bill is pictured with Denise Braham, manager of Skipton's British Heart Foundation Shop, receiving a cheque for £800. Two other donations, each of £250, are going to Take Heart, a charity for patients at Leeds General Hospital, and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Bill said: “The charities chosen are all close to my heart and deserve all the support they can get. I had a great time as president. Many thanks must go to all members who contributed.”
