AREA Dean Rev Ian Greenhalgh and his son Tom cycled and ran from Giggleswick to Bradford to join in the weekend's tenth anniversary celebrations of the formation of the Anglican Diocese of Leeds.
Starting on Friday last week, 75 -year old Ian and Tom cycled to Settle Parish Church where they were met with Rev Peter Greenwood who joined them to Airton. From Airton they went to Ripon Cathedral via Grassington and Pateley Bridge.
On the Saturday, they set off at St Andrew's Church, Gargrave and ran along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to Bradford, stopping off in Skipton and St Andrews Church, Kildwick.
Ian said on arrival at Bradford Cathedral there was just time for: "A quick change into my clerical garb and I was ready to join the other area deans in the procession for the marvellous service to celebrate our tenth anniversary as a diocese."
Ian hopes to raise around £2,000 for the work and mission events in the Ewecross and Bowland Deanery.
