A HISTORY group is encouraging people to add to its archive.
Items from Farnhill and Kildwick Local History Group's collection will be displayed at an event.
And people are being invited to take along old documents and photos of the villages, to be scanned and added to the archive.
The event is at Farnhill Institute on Saturday, May 11, between 10am-4pm.
Admission is free, and refreshments will be available.
Group co-ordinator, Graham Taylor, says: "Old documents and photographs provide an important record of village life and are a valuable resource for studying the history of our community. Scanning items allows us to maintain an archive without taking up space, or asking people to let us keep originals.
"We're interested in anything that sheds light on Farnhill and Kildwick in the past.
"We're asking people to dig out things hidden in drawers and cupboards, such as old newspaper cuttings, receipts from village shops, concert programmes and photographs of past events.
"When we held a similar event about ten years ago, the response provided a great start to our collection. Since then our digital archive has grown to over 2,000 items. The exhibition will enable people to see a selection of these."
