A new residents’ café at an Anchor care home has been officially opened by the mayor of Skipton.
The Mill Lodge in Skipton hosted Councillor Sheila Bentley for the opening and naming of The Anchor Hitch café with the ceremony including a barge moored up on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal alongside the venue.
Anchor’s community partnership manager Caryn Ferguson said: “We were delighted that Cllr Bentley agreed to unveil our new resident’s café and we had a great day.
“Our open afternoon for our eight onsite care suites was well received and it was great to host members of the public at our lovely home.”
The Mill House in Skipton is a residential care home within private landscaped gardens located on the historic site of a former silk mill.
It offers residential and dementia care for up to 86 residents.
The Mill Lodge is connected to the care home via a glass walkway.
