THE local community have been welcomed to a green space at a National Trust property.
Thanks to the help of Councillor Mohammed Muazzam, the National Trust team at East Riddlesden Hall are working to create a green space for the local community.
The Beck Garden, funded in part by a ward grant from Keighley Council, will be created to help the local community learn new skills, grow their own food, and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of spending time in nature.
Ben Cooper, senior gardener, said: “The Beck Garden will be a fantastic space for people from our local community to come and enjoy some time in nature.
The garden will be planned in an allotment style – with herbs, vegetables, and a small orchard. The food produced here will be given back to the local community or used in our tearoom on site.”
