A FREE guided walk will take place in the Yorkshire Dales later this month.
Environmental campaigning charity Friends of the Dales will give a free guided walk on Thursday, May 23, (10.30am to 3.30pm) which will start and finish at Aysgarth Falls.
It will be a seven-mile circular walk and talk exploring a short stretch of the River Ure and one of its tributaries.
Led by Catherine Mason, education and engagement officer for the Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust, it will offer an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Trust’s work including river and riparian restoration to improve habitats, address pollution, prevent erosion and reduce the impacts of flooding.
Walk terrain is mainly easy but with stiles and one steep rocky climb and descent.
No dogs allowed as there are ground nesting birds and livestock.
