Skipton Choral Society will perform the second concert in the Priory 2024 series at Bolton Priory Church on Saturday, May 11.
The programme for the concert, which starts at 7.30pm, includes Purcell’s Funeral Music for Queen Mary, Brahms’ Geistliches Lied, Rutter’s Winchester Te Deum, Chilcott’s Gloria and Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens featuring choir, brass quintet and organ.
The concert will be conducted by the society’s musical director Robert Webb.
Skipton Choral Society is a mixed choir of around 60 singers.
They perform a wide range of types of music, mainly traditional but also some more innovative pieces.
The choir has been running since 2013 and whilst it is based in Skipton, membership comes from many of the surrounding towns and villages.
The choir is encouraging people to come and support their local choral society and celebrate the summer with them.
Tickets are £15 which include a free glass of wine or a soft drink.
They are available from boltonpriory.org.uk and on the door on the night.
