THE election of a new Mayor for North Yorkshire will see a number of duties being transferred to the person who is elected to the role.
The first York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority Mayoral Election took place yesterday (Thursday) and the new Mayor will officially take up the role officially next Tuesday (May 7). Election ballots are being counted today.
On Tuesday, the roles and responsibilities of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner will transfer to the York and North Yorkshire Mayor and the office of the commissioner will become part of the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
The office of the commissioner will be also renamed the York and North Yorkshire Office for Policing, Fire, Crime and Commissioning (OPFCC).
From Tuesday, May 7, and until the Mayor determines, in conjunction with the Combined Authority Leadership Team, that changes should be planned and implemented.
However, the office of the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner confirmed the following: Its website is not moving and will retain the same address: https://www.northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk/ Its email addresses will remain the same, for example: For general enquiries: info@northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk For Customer Services: customerservice@northyorkshire-pfcc.gov.uk Its telephone number will remain the same: 01423 569 562 Its team will continue to work all over the county with its base remaining at Harrogate Police Station.
It will have a new logo, but it has been kept it very similar to the old one to retain the brand identity which was established in 2012.
