A ROUTINE walk to school turned into a rescue mission for three compassionate and quick-thinking teenage girls at a Craven school.
The three girls, who are Sixth Form students at Giggleswick School, were walking to school this morning (Friday) when stopped to help a trapped sheep in a field.
Before they knew it, a ewe giving birth to lambs needed help and the girls were quick to oblige. A spokesperson for Giggleswick School said: “In a heartwarming display of compassion and quick thinking, three Giggleswick School Sixth Form students, Maddie, Megan, and Arabella, stumbled upon a rigged sheep in a field behind a boarding house.
“What started as a routine walk to lessons after breakfast turned into a rescue mission, as the girls sprang into action.
“With determination and care, they worked together to right the sheep, ensuring its safety before turning their attention to a more urgent matter: the birth of two lambs!
“Through their collective efforts, they successfully helped the ewe give birth to two healthy lambs, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of both mother and offspring.”
