MAINTENANCE work is due to take place at Skipton Law Courts in June.
Water getting into the building in Otley Street has damaged the reception area, and recently, following heavy rain, water got into the court room used by the magistrates, getting in through the ceiling.
A spokesperson for HM Courts and Tribunal Service said: “Minor damage to the ceiling at Skipton Magistrates’ Court was swiftly rectified with no risk to the safety of staff or the public. Further maintenance works are planned next month (June)."
HMCTS says it is investing £220m in the two years to March 2025 to improve the overall quality and enhance the resilience of the court and tribunal estate.
