A PARTY of people from the Bentham and District Dementia Friendly Community took a trip on the Bentham Line to Carnforth where they enjoyed lunch in the Brief Encounter Bistro.
Afterwards, the group of 27 people enjoyed a look around the station and museum before returning to Bentham.
Jonathan Scott, of Bentham Medical Practice, said: "Much thanks to Gerald Towson and his colleagues from the Bentham Line Community Rail Partnership for organising the trip. Everyone had a great time. We are already planning our next trip for September."
The Bentham Line is a dementia-friendly railway. In a collaboration with a number of partners, including the Alzheimer’s Society, Alzheimer’s Research UK, the train operating company, Arriva Rail North Ltd, aim of the community rail partnership is to make the Bentham Line a centre of excellence in terms of understanding how community rail can assist in helping those with dementia to still lead an active life and continue to be part of society.
