LOCAL digital radio station Rombalds Radio has announced it is going even more local from next month - and will be dedicated to Skipton and the surrounding villages.

The station is changing its name to Your Skipton, and at the same time launching a new extra separate radio station to cover Ilkley.

Rombalds Radio will re-launch as Your Skipton on Monday July 1 just after Sheep Day.

Breakfast show presenter Nick Hancock says: “Every day you’ll hear all about the best of life in Skipton - from the market to the great activities at the town hall plus all the town’s amazing local events, community groups and charities. We’ll also be showcasing Skipton’s superb range of local businesses.”

Your Skipton will be supporting all the big events in town from Skipton Gala to Sheep Day, and the Skipton Santa Fun Run to the Christmas markets. It will also be the headline sponsor for the 2024 Skipton Business Awards and is delighted to be working with Skipton BID as launch partner for the town's new dedicated radio station.

Meanwhile, a new service - Your Ilkley - will launch on Monday July 8 and become the first-ever fully focussed radio station for Ilkley and surrounding areas including Menston, Burley in Wharfedale and Addingham.

Nick added: “We are so excited for the launch next month. All the team here can’t wait to get started!
