A PROPOSAL to build a garage and workshop for a house in Booth Bridge Lane, Thornton in Craven has been given the go ahead.
West Craven councillors went against the advice of their planning officer and instead approved the development at Booth Bridge Cottage.
A report to Tuesday's meeting of the West Craven Committee of Pendle Council in Salterforth recommended refusal on grounds of design and impact on the area.
But Councillor Tom Whipp said he did not believe there would be an impact although he did think window openings in the building could be improved.
All committee members, with the exception of the chair, Cllr David Whipp, voted to approve the application, with the condition that an amended window design be agreed by the planning manager.
