AN evening of singing and music was provided by the Skipton Ukulele Club when the musicians came to entertain members of Craven Open Door. During the course of the evening the band presented a cheque for £500 to the club which had been raised by busking and recent charity fundraising.
A spokesperson said: "We are always grateful for the generosity of the ukulele Club. Its members have been incredibly supportive of us and the work we do here at Craven Open Door."
The group which provides a venue for arts and crafts, films, cookery, board games and companionship for people with learning difficulties meets on Tuesdays in Christchurch Church Hall from 3.45pm to 6:30pm.
"We are delighted to help such a worthwhile charity," said Eric Crimmins from the ukulele club which meets on Thursday nights in the Holy Trinity Church café rooms at 6:30pm.
