A SKIPTON community nursery school will find out later this week if it is a winner in the 'Oscars of Education'.

Brougham Street Nursery has been shortlisted in the Times Educational Supplement (TES) School Awards in the inclusive school category and the early years setting category - with the winners due to be announced in London on Friday.

The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of schools and educators across the UK, aiming to recognise the very best in education, from early years settings to secondary schools, across state and independent sectors.

Headteacher, Alison Stewart, said it was a tremendous honour to be shortlisted. "It reflects our dedication to creating an inclusive, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment for our children," she said.

"Our inclusion in the inclusive school award category underscores our commitment to embracing diversity and ensuring that every child feels valued and supported. Meanwhile, the early years setting of the year nomination highlights our innovative approaches and outstanding early years education practices.

"We are incredibly proud to be recognised among the best in education and look forward to the event with great anticipation. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the other shortlisted schools and educators and express our gratitude to our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and wonderful children who make Brougham Street Community Nursery School a remarkable place of learning and growth."

Winners will be announced on Friday (June 21) at the Grosvenor Hotel, Park Lane, in London.
