WITH the expected reopening of the A59 at Kex Gill on Saturday, the popular bus service from Skipton and Harrogate will be back up and running again.

The Saturday DalesBus 59, which has been suspended while the road has been repaired, will again run four journeys from Skipton to Harrogate every Saturday from this weekend, calling at Bolton Bridge and Blubberhouses. Buses will leave Skipton Bus Station at 10.45am; 12.45pm; 3.45pm and at 5.45pm. It will return from Harrogate at 9.45am; 11.45am; 2.45pm and at 4.45pm.

"With the return of service 59, the full summer Dalesbus timetable is now in operation," said a spokesperson. "For 2024 this includes an improved service between Skipton and Malham on Sundays and Bank Holidays, with buses running mainly hourly throughout the day, with the first bus from Skipton at 9.50am and the last bus returning from outside the Buck Inn in Malham at 5.30pm.

The national cap on bus fares applies to all local bus services, so the single fare for any journey is just £2.
