BURNSALL'S Devonshire Fell hotel is celebrating 25 years as being part of The Devonshire Group’s collection of leading UK hospitality businesses.
Purchased from its previous Swiss owners at the turn of the last century, the 16-bed boutique hotel created quite a stir when it was renovated, with bold, colourful interiors and a quirky sense of style, designed by Duchess of Devonshire.
Since then, its picturesque location in the Dales has been a popular bolthole for visitors and wedding couples.
The hotel's silver anniversary will be celebrated on Saturday, June 29 with a barbecue party including lawn games and live music. Burnsall residents, neighbours and hotel guests are all invited to the party, which will take place from 12 midday to 5pm; there will be food and drinks at a pop-up bar, and children and dogs will also be welcome.
A hotel spokesperson said: "Another opportunity to visit this summer is to sample the hotel’s new ‘all day dining’ bistro, where both residents and non-residents can enjoy a selection of tasty seasonal dishes, including locally sourced grills and fresh fish from the Yorkshire coastline. The bistro’s open aspect and picture windows enables visitors to enjoy panoramic views over the River Wharfe from the hotel’s elevated vantage point.
"The cosy bar enjoys a welcoming atmosphere at any time of day and another new offering this season, is the opportunity to call in for coffees, teas and cakes during the afternoon. With so many invitations we hope to welcome more guests to the Fell this summer, including new ones to help us celebrate such a special landmark year."
