SKIPTON Morrisons is on the look-out for good causes to benefit from the supermarket's million pound giveaway.

In celebration of its 125th anniversary, Morrison Foundation's community spaces fund will see 125 charities across the country receive a share of £1m.

Grants of up to £8,000 each will go towards the enhancing of community spaces and local facilities.

To benefit from the fund, charities need to be recommended by one of the supermarket’s community champions. From now to July 13, they will be looking for suitable charities. They will then be invited to submit an application and grants awarded at the end of August.

Clare Reed, community champion at Skipton Morrisons said: “The community spaces fund is a great opportunity for local charities to bid for funding that could improve our community. There are lots of community spaces and facilities that would benefit from this funding boost. It will be a difficult choice to make, but I’m excited about the positive impact this fund will make.”
