DURING June, members of Settle and Area Action on Climate Emergency (ACE) and Settle Plastic Free met up with Settle Cubs, Scouts and Beavers to litter pick around the town.
And, everyone was amazed how much rubbish was picked in a short time each evening. The groups were full of enthusiasm and obviously concerned about their local area. The Beavers have also been busy erecting signs asking people to pick up and bin dog poo.
ACE's Melanie Fryer commented: "There is no excuse for litter which is unsightly, harms wildlife and is bad for the environment.
Discarded rubbish can end up in the River Ribble and become washed out to sea where it lasts for decades."
