POLLING stations across Craven are now open as people head out to vote in the general election.
For the first time in the UK, people will need to have photo ID in order to vote. There are more than 20 acceptable forms of photo ID that will be accepted, including a passport, driving licence, a Blue Badge, or an older person's bus pass.
Polls close at 10pm. Counting for the Skipton and Ripon constituency will take place in Harrogate at the Harrogate Convention Centre and the result will be published on the Craven Herald website as soon as possible after it is announced.
