SKIPTON Holy Trinity Church is planning a celebration of love, marriage and relationships this summer and is asking people for their help.
For five days, from July 31 to August 4, the historic church at the top of the High Street will be filled with an exhibition of beautiful bridal gowns from across the decades. Working in partnership with Cinderella’s bridal shop, Craven Museum and Craven College, dresses from the 1890s to the 2020s will be on display.
On the evening of Friday August 2, there will be a bridal fashion Show compered by Mandy Abramson from Cinderella’s with recent brides taking to the aisle to showcase their dresses and provide inspiration to anyone who is planning their wedding.
And, on the morning of Sunday, August 4, there will be a special service to celebrate love, marriage and relationships to which everyone is welcome.
In addition, organisers are keen to create a display that celebrates Skipton weddings over the years and are inviting the people of Skipton and across Craven to share photographs of their nuptials.
Rev James Theodosius, Rector of Holy Trinity said; “Over the years thousands of people have celebrated their love for each other in our beautiful church and we want to share as many of these stories as possible. Whether you were married at Holy Trinity or not we’d like to hear from you. Send us your wedding pictures and we’ll include them in our exhibition.”
