THE landlord of The Maypole Inn in Long Preston says the pub is bucking the trend with customers attracted by its food, bingo nights and live music.

Craig Inglis, who reopened the village pub two years ago, gives people what they want by serving food all day long, and has just launched his summer menu, which includes daily specials.

"We are a dog friendly pub with real cask ales selection of wines, whiskeys, gins and spirits; darts, dominoes, card games all await you if you just want to chill out in the bar after a long walk," he said.

Craig puts on a number of special events throughout the year, including fortnightly bingo nights and quiz nights with a twist. There is also a snakes and ladders quiz and play your cards right night every Friday evening, and for those who want to stay in the area, there are rooms.

The pub also puts on music nights, such as tribute act, The Cure Alone, on August 9.
