SOUTH Craven music festival 'Glistenbury' is back for a third year in August with plenty of live entertainment and fun for all the family.

Due to take place in Glusburn Park, Glusburn, on Saturday August 10, the event will kick off at midday and run into the early evening - and organisers are hoping for a warm and dry day.

Held in memory of Chris Riley and Kevin Clayton, this year's festival will feature 15 acts performing live on two stages with a variety of music to suit all tastes.

The event will also include presentations to the village's 'in-bloom' contest.

The event, which will raise money for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice, will also include family attractions such as bouncy castles.

For the adults, there will be a licensed bar serving locally brewed ales from the Craven Brew Co and a cocktail bar for those wanting something different.

There will also be a variety of food available alongside hot and cold refreshments throughout the day.

Winners of the village in bloom competition will be announced following a performance by Harry Hinchcliffe's Ensemble TNG at 11am.

Alister Witherington, chair of South Craven Together, said: "To help with the cost of the event, South Craven Together has been aided by the kind sponsorships of local businesses Wilman and Wilman estate agents and the Just Motor Group.

"Donations to Sue Ryder are welcome on the day and wristbands will be on sale as a mementos. All profits will be in aid of Manorlands hospice."

In addition to the raffle, a charity auction will also be held in the afternoon offering exclusive items and experiences.

Mr Witherington added: "As our 'village in bloom' Glusburn Park fundraiser of 2022, in memory of Chris Riley, became an annual event, by popular demand. We are proud to present 'Glistenbury' as its new music event name. The second stage for additional music was added in 2023 in memory of Kevin Clayton, a key organiser, and contributor in 2022."

Admission is £5, to include £5 worth of raffle tickets, or two free sessions on the bouncy castles. Tickets are available online, or on the day. But organisers say numbers are limited, so festival goers are strongly urged to buy their tickets sooner rather than later.
