POLICE are appealing for help in finding a 44-year old man who has been missing since early on Friday and was last seen in Burnsall, near Skipton.
Anthony Smith, from Essex, was last seen at the Red Lion Hotel, Burnsall, at 4.30am on Friday (July 19). Police believe he may not have been wearing shoes when he went missing.
"His family have been unable to contact him ever since and we’re growing increasingly concerned for his welfare," said a spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police.
"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate Anthony including searches around Barden Bridge.
"As part of our enquiries, we are asking for anyone who may have seen Anthony, or who has information about his whereabouts, to contact us immediately.
"He is described as white, with dark, short hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey running jacket, black t-shirt, and three-quarter length black shorts.
"We do not believe he is wearing any footwear."
Anyone who has seen Anthony or who has any information that could help police is asked to call 101 and talk to the force control room.
Immediate sightings of Anthony should be reported on 999.
