PEOPLE in Craven are being urged to have their say about neighbourhood policing - and what officers should concentrate on.

The North Yorkshire Police Neighbourhood Policing activity survey asks what should be the teams' priorities - such as attending community events, sharing policing information via the community messenger scheme, or maintaining an up-to-date website.

Other possible top activities include having highly visible patrols, early intervention/prevention work with partner agencies, arresting key neighbourhood crime offenders.

People are also asked whether they think tackling organised crime groups, or 'county lines' should be a priority, and also revisits to victims of crime.

A police spokesperson said: "The purpose of this survey is to help us understand what the public feel are the most important activities of the Neighbourhood Policing Teams (in North Yorkshire.  "This will help us to prioritise how the teams can be most effective as we strive to provide a bespoke and excellent service to all communities across North Yorkshire."

Neighbourhood Policing Teams are based in 11 districts across the county and are made up of Police Community Support Officers, constables, volunteers and special constable volunteers.  The teams work on bespoke neighbourhood issues and carry out community engagement, targeted patrols and problem solving.
