GRASSINGTON'S only pharmacy is settling in after being officially reopened by Skipton MP Sir Julian Smith just days before the General Election.
Samina Khan took over the pharmacy after previous owner, Boots, closed it at the end of June, along with hundreds of others across the country.
Ms Khan reopened the Station Road pharmacy the day after Boots moved out, doing her best to make sure customers were able to collect their prescriptions.
She said: "We had teething problems for first few days with the IT system not working, but with help of my pharmacy team we managed to clear the back log and dispense all the outstanding scripts."
"The people of Grassington have been very patient whilst we got through first few days and also very welcoming.
"Doctors have been great and helped us by reprinting scripts while we could not download them due to IT issues."
Ms Khan said: "My team and I are looking forward to providing an excellent pharmaceutical service to all the patients of Grassington and surrounding areas. We will be also providing NHS and private services. Pharmacy first service which was launched earlier this year to help take burden of doctors and free up appointments. "
It covers seven conditions including urinary tract infection for women only, shingles, impetigo, ear infection for children, sore throat, and infected bites.
"'Flu and Covid vaccines will be provided from late September onwards. We will also like patients to give us feedback on anything they would like us to provide," added Ms Khan.
The team includes Pamela Goulden who transferred from Boots, and Sarah Wells, a registered nurse who lives in village.
Ms Khan said: "There will be regular faces so patients can be confident in coming to pharmacy and discussing their medical needs."
Ms Khan and her partner, Kevin Harle will be splitting their time between Grassington Pharmacy and their other business, Pateley Bridge Pharmacy.
