Bolton Abbey

Rector’s Message: This Sunday we hear once again, the story of the Prodigal Son. The story is well known and the phrase ‘prodigal son’ is still used widely today. You may indeed, be the ‘prodigal son’ or members of your family might hold that view about you or others? However, the beauty of the story is that it illustrates the power of God’s grace. It tells us all that, whatever we may have done and however far we might have fallen, nothing is beyond God’s redemptive power. Indeed, as the story reminds us, God will go further than we can ever imagine or indeed deserve. He will still welcome us with open arms and hold a banquet in our honour. Don’t be afraid, all you need to do is come home.
