A ROAD in West Craven which links up with the A59 is currently closed for up to the end of the week.

North Yorkshire Council highways is carrying out ditch clearing from the junction of the old Gisburn Road at Marton Scar, West Marton, to the boundary with Lancashire County Council.

The work involves the clearing and creation of 277 metres of open ditch and the scraping of 192 metres of road edge, including the forming of new ditch where possible. Also taking place is the installation of a new piped crossing under the road, the creation of headwalls with sand and cement sandbags.

The road is due to be closed until Friday (August 2).
