FELL rescue was called out yesterday (Wednesday) after a 78-year old woman suffered a suspected stroke while enjoying a day out at the newly restored stepping stones at Bolton Abbey.
A spokesperson for Grassington based Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) said: "The ambulance and the first team member arrived and assessed the lady whilst the team vehicle was on route, a suspected stroke was diagnosed.
"The team then assisted the ambulance crew in helping the casualty to the waiting ambulance. We wish the lady a speedy recovery."
Ten team members attended the incident, which took just under an hour. It was the 31st call out for UWFRA so far this year.
