Organiser Owen Lewis said: “Cowling used to host live music days like this years ago and I want to bring them back. I want to bring those shows back where there would be hundreds of people enjoying the music, fell Race having a nice, fun day out.

"We’re hoping for that same kind of atmosphere. Cowling Rec is a beautiful setting and it should be getting used more. Hopefully this will be the start of that. We want to grow it as big as possible and if there are any local businesses who would like to get involved from a sponsorship point of view then we would love to hear from them."

Mr Lewis added he wanted to deepen his roots in Cowling, so decided to do what he did best - put on an event.

"The Cowling Community Festival aims to appreciate and enhance our community spirit by bringing people together, to have fun together, to laugh together, to be entertained together, and to continue to make fond memories together."

All profits from the event along with any donations will be given to the recreation ground management committee towards the ongoing development of the recreation ground and towards The Cowling Recreation Ground and War Memorial Charity
