MORRISON'S Skipton has extended its support to the community in an effort to relieve holiday hunger this summer.
£200 in Morrisons vouchers has been given to Katie Fox, owner of Wild Explorers, to help provide food to families that need it.
Morrisons Community Champion at the Skipton store, Clare Reed, will work closely with Wild Explorers over the next few weeks to ensure the distribution goes smoothly.
Ms Fox said of the donation: "It's much appreciated, and as we have over 300 places for children who are eligible, it will make a big difference!"
Morrisons stores nationwide will be supporting school holiday activity programmes arranged by local schools, by community groups, and by the Government's Holiday Activities and Food Programme.
This includes a donation of £100,000 of food across the UK this summer.
Morrisons has an on-going food surplus programme that provides excess food to causes such as food banks and community groups.
Customers at Morrisons can purchase a 'Pick Up Pack' filled with a selection of groceries, which are then distributed to food banks and community organisations by the store's Community Champions.
