THE very best of vegetables, flowers and fruit Giggleswick is able to offer will be on show at the village horticultural show on Saturday (August 10).

Last year’s Giggleswick Horticultural Show was its 80th and raised a record amount of £900 for six local charities, Cave Rescue Organisation; Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Settle Pool as well as the scouts, library and pantry.

Saturday's 81st show will take place at Giggleswick Junior School Pavilion and will open at 1.30pm.

Delicious homemade teas will be available in the Hobson Room in Giggleswick School dining hall and at 4pm there will be an auction of some of the donated exhibits.

A spokesperson for organisers said: "It is an open show with 148 different classes, so there is something for everybody – vegetables, flowers, fruit, culinary, art, handicraft and children’s classes - and even a children’s dog show."
