THE remaining man due to be sentenced for his part in a break-in at the closed Craven Heifer Pub in Skipton has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.
Kian Jones, 19, admitted last month burglary with intent to steal at the Grassington Road pub on May 10.
At Harrogate Magistrates Court on July 12 he was given a 12-month community order with 100 hours unpaid work. Jones, of Fawcett Gardens, Leeds, was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £114.
In June, his co-accused, Jacob Ratayak, 33, of Springbank Road, Morley, Leeds, who had been with Jones on May 10 and who had also pleaded guilty to burglary, was also given a community sentence including 100 hours unpaid work.
At their first hearing at Skipton Magistrates Court on May 31, the court heard that the pair had entered the pub, which has been closed since July last year, and had left empty-handed. They had been seen on monitoring equipment by a security firm employed by the then owners the Tarn Moor Trust following repeated break-ins at the property.
The Craven Heifer has since been sold and is to be redeveloped as a pub with garden centre.
