SETTLE Parish Church will be the venue next month for a day of fine singing.
Tim Smith, a keen ambassador for choral music, has been running singing events and workshops for more than 20 years.
He has built up a reputation for providing singers with a 'rewarding, educational and memorable experience' singing fine music in venues across the UK, Europe and America.
And on Saturday, September 14, he returns to Settle with Sing Day: English Part-Songs.
Anne Parker, projects and promotions assistant for Tim Knight Music, said Settle was one of their favourite venues for the Sing Days.
She said: "Tim will lead people through the day in his inimitable relaxed style, inviting people to immerse themselves in that 'peculiar to England' form of music - the part song.
"The day will be a complete treasury of English song, with music by Vaughan Williams and others, including: Sullivan - 'Long day closes'; Stanford - 'Heraclitus; My loves an Arbutus; Elgar - 'As torrents in summer'; and Roberton - 'All in the April evening'."
She added: "We don't send the music out in advance or provide rehearsal tapes as these are not necessary but it is a fast-paced day of learning so some sight-reading capability is a definite advantage."
The Sing Day on September 14 takes place from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Cost £18, including refreshments. Find out more at: https://www.timknightmusic.com/
